Car Insurance SR22 Form Filing Cost
Reader’s Question:
How much does SR-22 insurance form filing cost?
Powell
Brockton, MA
The car insurance coverage bought that is associated with the SR-22 certificate will be rated according to all the factors that normally go into rating an insurance policy, regardless of the SR-22 form filing.
Typically insurance carriers are allowed to charge a nominal fee for SR22 filing to the state. The SR-22 form filing cost is typically only $15 to $25 but state laws vary though.
Your driving history is a rating factor in the car insurance cost so the reason that you are required to get and carry the SR-22, such as reinstating your drivers license after a DWI/DUI suspension, may affect your auto insurance rate premium but the SR-22 form itself does not go beyond the filing fee.

Car Insurance SR22 Warwick, Rhode Island RI
Reader’s Question:
In Warwick, Rhode Island, how long are your required to carry an SR-22 insurance?
Harris
Warwick, RI
Typically, the length of time one will be required to maintain an SR-22 filing is 3 years in Warwick but in Rhode Island since the court sets the time period it may be the standard three years or a different amount of time. To verify what amount of time the court determined for you in your specific case you should be able to contact the Rhode Island Department of Motor Vehicles or read over your court papers to check if they say how long a financial responsibility certificate must be maintained.
If you find out that the time period to carry your SR-22 insurance is up and the state of Rhode Island is no longer requiring you to carry it then the Department of Motor Vehicle or Rhode Island insurance regulator should be able to tell you what process you need to take so that you can terminate the SR22 certificate from your insurance policy. An insurance provider will want proof that the SR22 insurance can be cancelled and will no longer needed to be filed on your behalf to the state.

Driving With International License Ellicott City Maryland MD
Reader’s Question:
Can my girlfriend coming on vacation from UK drive in Ellicott City Maryland with his international license if she hires a vehicle?
Troy
Ellicott City, MD
According to Maryland’s Driver Handbook any nonresident of Maryland may drive on the Maryland roadways provided that the nonresident is in possession of a valid license to operate a vehicle issued by the country or state in which they reside. Motorists with a valid foreign driver’s license may operate a vehicle the same class or type of car in Maryland that the individual is permitted to drive in their home country, as long as they meet the Maryland age requirements.
It sounds that your girlfriend will not have trouble driving in Ellicott City Maryland with his British or UK license. If she only had an international permit that would not be enough to drive with however a valid license from his home country of UK she should be able to drive in MD and other states.

Monster Trucks Insurance Michigan MI
Reader’s Question:
How much does it cost to get insurance for monster truck and how do you get a license to drive it? I live in Michigan.
Vince
Detroit, MI
Monster Trucks are expensive to own and insure. The truckworld.com site states that the costs involved with true monster trucks are normally too high for most people without having it for a business purpose or having support from a sponsor.
The Monster Truck Racing Association (MTRA) is the organization of Monster Truck owners, sponsors, drivers, and fans that you can call for information about how to go about obtaining a license for this type of vehicle. At the US Hot Rod Association site (USHRA.com) you can also get information regarding monster trucks and how to become licensed.
Monster Trucks are a specialty car that would need special insurance to cover it so you will need to contact the associations to obtain insurance and licensing information.

Auto Insurance Denver Colorado CO
Reader’s Question:
I have happily moved to Denver and I am more than happier than ever. I like my neighborhood, love my job! Though I am partially settled, would like to know details on car insurance in Denever Colorado CO for I do not want to drive around under-insured.
Donald
Denver, CO
Your car insurance in Denver is regulated at the state level of Colorado which has its own guidelines concerning the minimum car insurance coverage required. All 50 states have laws regarding the minimum amount of liability coverage you must have in order to legally drive your vehicle. Liability coverage is car insurance that covers damage you cause to other people and their property.
Colorado auto insurance state minimums are expressed in three parts. Say in Denver, Colorado’s legal minimums are 25/50/15. The first number refers to the maximum amount your insurance company in Denver will pay for injuries sustained by a single individual, per accident; the second number refers to the maximum amount your insurer will pay for all injuries in a single accident; and the third number is the maximum amount your insurer in Denver CO will pay for property damage, per accident. So for the state where you are, this translates into $25,000 of bodily injury coverage per victim; $50,000 of bodily injury coverage per accident; and $15,000 of property damage coverage per accident.
Keep in mind that these are Colorado state minimums and it is always wise to carry coverage in excess of them. So in Denver, if you were in an accident that caused $100,000 in bodily injury damages to another motorist, your insurance would only cover the first $25,000. For the other $75,000 will cost you as the injured motorist could come after you!

Cheap SR22 auto insurance online
Q: I’ve recently retired and have seen my car insurance go down slightly, but I’ve been looking for cheap SR22 auto insurance online because it wasn’t enough for me to afford it now that I’m not getting a paycheck every two weeks. Can you point me in the right direction?
A: The provider of cheap SR22 auto insurance online which I point all retirees to is Hartford AARP car insurance. AARP, as I’m sure you know, is an organization for retired Americans, so if you go with their insurance then you’re getting the deal that is most tailored to your situation and your needs.
AARP Hartford also offers classes in things such as defensive driving which can help you make your cheap online SR22 auto insurance even cheaper, by around 15%.
If you aren’t interested in going with AARP Hartford, then you should consider asking other car insurance companies about their discounts. Most good car insurance companies have some kind of discount for seniors and/or retirees.
Cheap SR22 insurance online
Q: I do all of my car insurance dealings over the internet, but can’t figure out how to get cheap SR22 insurance online. Help?
A: Finding cheap insurance online is pretty simple, but cheap SR22 insurance online is a little more of a challenge. The basic idea, though, after you’ve gotten the best quote, is to sacrifice and discount until you can’t anymore.
By sacrifice, I mean that perhaps one of the reasons for why you can’t find cheap SR22 insurance online is that you are looking for too much coverage. If you lower your coverage to just liability, or even to just the liability required by your state, then you will see about half of your premium just drop away.
Your ability to do this depends on your circumstances. For example, if you are financing a car, you cannot cut your coverage to liability. However if you own your car, and that car is worth less than one thousand dollars, then you do need to and should be able to cut your coverage to the minimum, and in fact should have done so long ago.
Cheap SR22 online
Q: I hardly ever drive but I pay so much for insurance! Can I get cheap SR22 online somehow?
A: Aside from finding great quotes, one of the best ways to make your online SR22 cheap is to make sure you have some discounts applied to it when you log in to pay. Let me present you with a couple that sound like they might apply to you.
- Low mileage discount.
This will help you out since you don’t drive very often. Check with your cheap online SR22 company and see if they have this–most do. Normally you will qualify if you drive less than 5000 miles a year, or, for some companies, if you drive less than 40 miles a day.
- Public transportation discount.
This one is less widely offered, but it does exist with some car insurance companies. If you try to take the bus instead of driving, you can often get a small discount (and save gas money).
