A: Normally I would suggest that your first step would be to lower your coverage, but since that isn’t possible if you’re financing your car, I’ll skip over it. It may be possible for you to lower your liability limits, but you should consider your own driving record and the size and damage power of your car before doing so.
If you can’t cut your coverage, raise your deductible. This is the main way to turn collision and comprehensive from expensive to cheap. Normally I would suggest that you raise your deductibles on both types of SR22 car insurance online to at least a thousand, but if you can afford more, it’s even better.
I raised my deductible on my own collision and comprehensive coverage from $500 to $1500, and I saved half of my premium. If you put aside some of the money you’re saving by raising your deductible, you can have an emergency fund so that you won’t have to worry about affording your deductible later.
